So, I've never written a review before, but this time I felt I must. Four of us stopped at Vesuvio for dinner. We are new to the area and it looked like a nice place. We were seated right away by a pleasant waiter. And that was where the good experience ended. We waited over 40 minutes for 2 bowls of soup. Our waitor disappeared during the wait. While the soup was good, it was nothing special. Then after being told our food would be right out, we waited another 15 minutes for an olive and artichoke pizette to be brought out. It looked like it had been sitting for a while - the cheese which had been melted was already hardened. And it was not worth the wait. It had no flavor, even after adding cheese and salt. The other three in our party waited another 10 minutes and then 2 paninis came out. We were informed that panninis take long to make and the other meal, a toasted wrap would be right out. 10 minutes later, and we had to ask for the wrap again. Even the check took over 15 minutes to be brought to the table - the waiter was avoiding our table. We spent over 2 hours and 15 minutes for a pizzette and 3 sandwiches. At the end of the meal we asked to speak to the manager. I explained to her what had happened. She informed me that the restaurant was busy and that is what happens. There was no apology, no offer of any kind to make it better (complementary coffee maybe??) I told her that over an hour wait was really unacceptable, and she responded with a shrug and "we were busy." Yes, I guess they were busy but I am not sure doing what. The dining room had only 3 tables with guests while we were there, and they were not getting food either. The pizza parlor in the front had maybe 5 guests the whole time. The only activity we saw was the delivery guy. he left and came back 3 times while were there. Most times I will give a place a second chance - everyone has an off day. But after the rude and uncaring treatment from the management, I will never eat there again.

their pizza has no flavor! i mean how is it possible for a chicken parm pizza to have no flavor? and the "garlic knots" were just balls of baked pizza dough with with a light glazing of garlic and oil, i understand that garlic knots are just baked pieces of pizza dough, but this pizzeria managed to mess up that common item. well on the upside, they actually have a pretty ok sauce and the place is very nice inside. the dining room is very classy and very clean. idk how their baked dishes are or their hot/cold sandwiches, but I will not be going there again to find out

Another subpar Southern Ocean County pizza joint. Food is mediocre at best. Pizza is not very good. On upside, Service is friendly though.

now I remember why this,the closest pizza joint to my house is always off my radar. I just had takeout after a long abscence, due to the fact I was hungry, my normal spot was closed and it was close.I am the type that I try to support a local business.I say to myself,hmm,they may have `new` ingredients or a `new` cook so let me try after all they stayed in business all this time.But noooo . The `pizza` is downright awful. The sauce is weird tasting and its just chewy dough under melded together `cheese.I hate dominos but would rather go 4 doors down to dominos if I was hungry for pizza again. I go to the only pizza joint (Naples) in town that DOESNT DELIVER.It`s far from my home and I pass multiple pizza joints (inlcuding vesuvios) on the way to go there. The owner and family claim to be from Italy. Why did they come all this way to bring us subpar `food? Why did they open ANOTHER pizza,in an area with so many pizza places to begin with? They were probably run out of the country if they were peddling food there also.Obviously they didn`t put anyone out of business with this junk. Stick to your grocers freezer you`ll be better off. When they are handing out licenses they should have to go before the town board with samples to get a permit !
